Chip Thornsburg is a Master Peace Officer in Texas and Electronic Crimes Investigator for the City of Helotes. He oversees compliance with the FBI and DPS computer network security standards at the local level. He has conducted investigations for more than 10 years crimes range from Murder and Terroristic Threats to Forgery, Fraud and Cyber Stalking. Chip is a member of the National White Collar Crime Center and the US Secret Service: Electronic Crime Task Force.
Chip began a research and consulting business in 1996 for network communications and security before transitioning into law enforcement. Former Adjunct instructor and lecturer on Technology and Criminal Justice at River City College, Southern Careers North Texas State and previous speaker at NolaCon.
Chip was recently appointed to a faculty position with NE Lakeview College in San Antonio to develop a new Information Assurance and Cyber Security degree program.
