James began his career identifying issues then resolving them or escalating to management when necessary. My job a BBN was monitoring LAN/WAN and SCADA nodes, trouble shooting and reporting issues, ticketing systems, and travel abroad to onsite to solve communication issues. The last few years I have spent at OT Cyber security vendors helping them build their demonstration abilities, acquire customers, and train partners (such as Jacobs, PWC, Accenture, Optiv and many others).
Born in The Secret City (Oakridge, Tenn.), I spent the early years of m,y career in Cambridge, Mass. working for BBN Planet (Autonomous System 1 on the internet). In 2000, set course for New York and private network consulting for data security for legal firms, commodities trading networks and large global retail. After 2003, I moved to Houston for a job in oil and gas operations in deep water and international locations. This made up the better part of the next decade. In 2010, I began working for Fortinet as a subject matter expert and evangelist for mega-corporation security architecture, encryption, and infosecurity. I joined leadership as a channel technical leader at an Industrial Cyber Security firm CyberX, purchased by Microsoft. I also spend time as a researcher and evangelist and speaker at security conferences such as Black Hat, and an operational technology security architect for global-scale clients and critical infrastructure projects.
